In each of its Codelco divisions, the copper concentrate is stored in a series of storage warehouses. This concentrate must be constantly humidified to avoid the dispersion of it by means of dust particles which generate risks for the health of the workers of the plant. The purpose of the wetting skid is to provide industrial water under pressure to five wineries so that the concentrate can be humidified.
The skid is made up of four Stairs pumps, model SBI4-9, four Nastec frequency variators, Vasco 409 model, hydropneumatic tank, manifold discharge, manifold suction and its corresponding fitting. All mounted on a structural steel base ASTM A36.
The system is controlled by pressure transducers that communicate with the frequency inverters, thus, regardless of the requirements of the system, maintain a constant pressure in the discharge manifold.
